I installed these speakers on a max 50 watt system with no amp. They have a fairly low sensitivity rating, and that’s part of the reason I bought them. They sound great when you put the power to them, but it has to get pretty loud before the woofer will move well–which means not a lot of base when the volume is low. I would recommend these speakers as long as you have an amp pushing them.

I had these put into my 2006 Subaru Impreza today, and they sound fantastic. Very crisp highs and impressive bass from relatively small speakers. I don’t have a fancy audio deck ($200 Kenwood) that outputs 21-Watts RMS per channel, and these speakers run very nicely on it. I imagine that they would sound even better with a good quality amplifier, which I don’t have. I’m very pleased with these speakers.
